This is a nice set from Retter illustrating Gottleib Daimler tries out his motorcycle in the streets of Cannstatt, Cannstatt being in Stuttgart and Daimler's vehicle being called a riding car initially.

The motorcycle is a quite faithful reproduction of the actual vehicle

Normally not my area of interest but, i saw this exquisite paint job in an ebay auction which mixed in some figures from one of Hafer's sets.

What is also quite interesting is you will notice in picture two the 4th figure from the left shows a young man and then two legs. These appear as a figure cut off and show up in the catalog as well. They are in the painted examples and probably are meant to represent boots but, appear as a figure broken off at the ankles at first glance.
An interesting bit of history which is again what makes flat collecting fun!
