This second Man-at-Arm is also edited at first by Hans Mûller, in Erfurt, in 1957 identified as
MR172, and identified as 'Mann mit Stangenaxt angreifend' (dismounted knight with pole axe), representing a ma,-at-arms with a pole axe.
This arm is different from the halberd by its length which is exceeding 2m 20.
Same preparations steps, and there also, I used a violet for the clothes !!!!!!
But for the same reasons as the first painting, violet was not readily available to the non-nobility, therefore I also undertook to repaint and cover the violet, .... TO BLUE !!!
unfortunately, many blue colours are rather transparent, and I added coats after coats, and the intense strength of the violet went through the oil paint during several days .;. eventually, I apply a ivory black colour, slightly brownish to go away from blue, and came with the final paint:
The third picture is also a Black & White of the previous one.
