From Ralph Fisher on another forum today:
"This afternoon I received a call from Axel Oldhafer. He told me that Hans-Dieter Oldhafer probably died on the weekend. He could not say it more precisely. You have to know: Hans-Dieter died in his apartment in Stade - his son lives on Lake Constance ...
Hans-Dieter Oldhafer was a very versatile publisher of 30mm flat figures. He explored his subjects very carefully. These were the Ottomans, the Polish army and Japan. We collectors owe him a huge number of figures on these topics.
For many years he was the 2nd chairman of the KLIO-AG SHOGUN. In this capacity, he communicated with draftsmen and engravers who worked on the AG's annuals. And he was also the casting master of the AG until recently. Both offices he has given for reasons of age and health.
Hans-Dieter leaves a gap that is difficult to fill - not only in the KLIO-AG SHOGUN but in the entire collector's collection.
My sympathy goes especially to his son. Dear Axel, I wish you the necessary strength."
