Thanks Andrew! Although I don't understand how Mr. Krog could make such a mistake in his book about Gottstein. I presume there are no engraver's mark on the stand but of course difference between Frank and Frauendorf is recognisable.

Again missing 
All figures have marks, although hand of engraver is clearly visible.
The catalogue of Gottstein figures also claims that this set was by Frauendorf, I trust that where a mistake came from.

Ha you're right krannich says frauendorf, although they certainly look like frank to me

On the contrary, Oleg. It is by Frank, excluding few civilians (who, I presume, were watching the show) and two marching British guardsmen, both small size as if on a large distance from other figures

I caved and bought this set from scholtz and they're superb as Eric says. Highly recommended. Perhaps the molds were restored, as Frank's engravings are as sharp as anything I've seen.

This set was engraved by Frauendorf not Flank.

Yes, they were restored along with Louis XIV's General Staff - also expensive and also beautifully cast.


Looks like a great set to paint - have fun.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but for some reason Scholz seems to be selling Gottsteins The Field of the Cloth of Gold (listed under the title "the golden tent camp"). It's not cheap, but if you're like me and always rummaging for Gottstein sets, might be of interest.  Just thought I'd share as its a beautiful set.
