Dear snagy

there are in fact two sets : The Loy set which has been engraved by L.Frank and another matching set of Gerard at Neckel. The set you bought included figures from both sets. The officer is for example from the Neckel set.

Please find attached the Loy set.

I believe they are also still in the Maier catalog Sandor.

The longevity of flat figures is indeed quite amazing at times.

Since no answer was received this is the information I got from the seller:

The figures were ordered in 1935 of a Mr. Loy from Munich/Germany. He was a chemist and private collector.        The draughtsman was Ludwig Madlener also from Munich and the engraver Ludwig Frank from Nuremberg/Germany, the best engraver of tin-figures of the world. The figures are descended from an old collection of Vienna/Austria.

For your information.
Best regards - and wish you ALL nice Christmas!!!!
