It looks good so far Serhan, but I think you need more shading and highlighting. The shadow under the rolled edge of the conning tower implies a more-or-less zenithal lighting, but there are no shadows cast by the crew members' bodies on themselves or the deck. Look at the original photo to get an idea. The sea and sky seem monochromatic and could use some enhancement - light blue at the bottom of the sky going darker as the eye goes to the top, while the sea could use some variation in the blue tones to denote wave action and some 'sparkle' caused by the sun glinting off the surface.

Cheers,

Glen

Hello.

Thank you for head up Glen. I tried to correct angle of the gun muzzle. Finished details of conning tower crew shift, and cooked the pie...

Now preparing for moulding.

Looking good, but check the angle of the gun muzzle in clay versus the angle in the pic. Too much side, I think, in clay. The pic is only a a couple of degrees off bore. Also check the fold on the leftmost figure's coat pocket (left side as viewed). It needs a bit of refinement.

Cheers,

Glen

Hello.

Glen thanks for remind me the case we talked below. On this one I will leave " sky areas " intact and will go as plate. It will be easy to cut thin resin plate if necesseary.

This weekend I almost closing to finish sculpting main figures.

Thanks for looking.

Well, I'm not sure really. Most stand alone flats are set against a black background. Most dioramas have some background scenery to enhance the story. Yours seems to be in the gray area in between. Leaving it intact allows you to paint a sky of light blue at the bottom and going slightly darker as you get to the top, then adding some clouds. This might help you force the perspective and enhance the three-dimensionality. You could also display it on a plate stand instead of in a frame. It's different... Cutting away the background will require some precision work so you don't damage the edges of the figures and the sub. Beveling the edges might also be need to reinforce the perception of 'flat'. Paint the edge black if you frame it against a black background. You could also use a painted background of sea and sky - perhaps on a canvas panel.

Bottom line: I'm not really sure which way to go (how's that for a non-answer?  ;) ). Both have merits.

Thank you Glen.

Well, I was thinking left that areas to be painted but I dont know now. What do you think? Its better to left those or cut?

I am also planning to have its RTV mould. May be let it like as plate is nicer..??
