VERY nice! I hope you choose 54mm, but I'm in either way.

As Nick said the 54mm was favoured at the weekend but why not go for a real stunner!!! I'm talking BIG!!   180mm/200mm that would stop everyone in there tracks  ;D ;D ;)

Cost to much, slate to much, casting to much but would make a real statement for the BFFS  ;)

I took the drawings to Figureworld on Saturday, and showed the 2 drawings of both scales to the members that attended. It was a 100% vote for 54mm, mainly because of the slightly larger size, week eyes and better detailing potential.

however, these will be at Kulmbach and I will take note of what is said there ;)

Hello Hannibal,

I think it´s not a good idea to mix 45 and 54 mm if you´ll present some figures together in a frame
or diorama. 45 mm needs less space, fits to the pretty figures of the East French Society and to the
tradition of Heinrichsen  So I would prefer 45 mm.

Best regards

Actually Arthur would be nice in 45mm, and the other in 54mm, I think.
(Belgian compromise).... But we are used to paint horse riders in 30mm (character) size.
The second has more détails in its height that would be better revealed in a larger size to make a superb framed painting. You can add me on the buyer list from now on.

Lunyakov has already made superbs engravings.... !!

45mm works for me!

Not that I'm actually painting anything lately...

I'm pleased that we are at least going in the right direction for you all ;D ;D ;D

I have reproduced these drawings in both 45 and54 mm, and even with the fine detail, they work very well  in both scales!!  and will paint up equally well.

I will obviously have these drawings in Kulmbach, and I show them to all of you who are interested so we can gauge your preference and opinion   ;)

Being fond of King Arthus for decades I greet this project!

At the other hand -30 mm could match the "storyteller figures"

at the other hand 45 mm are fine to paint.

So -as I am concerned 45 mm would be fine. ;)

Hi Nick,
good ideas, British themes around King Arthur and a bit action. I think it´ll be so successfull as Robin Hood.
The Fantasy collectors will like them, too.

Best regards

Beautiful drawings looks like a great idea, being medieval there will be no worries about exact colours etc.

Great idea, great drawings.
At age 68, would opt for 54mm...perhaps the membership could weigh in after a comparison of the respective costs of both sizes.
Thanks for your efforts...

New Series of BFFS figures
« Reply #1 on: July 23, 2015, 06:15:20 AM »
Dear All,

After much debate within the committee, I can finally announce a  new series of figures that we will be producing.
I have always wanted to get this idea off the ground, and so here is the first of many

It will be based on the legend of King Arthur. There is great scope for both subjects, stories and design. I am also pleased to say we now have an official BFFS Artist. His name is Sasha Lunyakov, and as you can see from the first drawing, he is pretty impressive. I have always maintained that if the drawing is good, then the engraving will be good, and this has certainly proved to be the case with the  Dragoon figure that is being released for the 30th Anniversary of Euromilitaire.
This too was sasha's drawing for the engraver.

At Kulmbach, Brian, Chris and I will be speaking to various engravers to see who will be best to do it.

We will decide then if the set will be in 45mm or 54mm

The second drawing is an idea on what the second figure in the series could look like ;)

I hope you like them           Nicholas
