Welcome Tony,

Please do bring the figures for the table, and make yourself known to us. I look forward to seeing your work and as you are there on the Saturday, you can learn a few tips from our Meastro Brian who will be doing an official Demonstration ;)

Greetings everybody!

After meeting Brian & Eric at Figureworld 2013 (thanks for making me so welcome, chaps), I joined the Forum over a year ago, and here I am making my first post. So, up to my usual pace of operations!

Anyway, something about me. I'm a professional full-time figure sculptor and model maker and have been so for 'a number of years' now. My biz is called SEAX DESIGNS, if you'll forgive the advertising. So, knocking out figures all day long, it takes something special to really get me and after work I don't really feel like model making. Which is my excuse for the above-mentioned pace of operations.

So why flats? Well, foremost I like the elegance and gracefulness of many of the designs, especially perhaps, the older ones. Also, I used to be  a graphic artist / illustrator long ago, so the idea of the figure as an almost-2D surface on which to base a picture, is appealing... but difficult! Finally, I suppose I just feel drawn to the unusual, stuff that's away from the norm.

So that's it, look forward to getting to know you all. I'm going to put an I/d query in the appropriate section, and will be coming to EuroMil for the Saturday along with a couple of things (currently working on some Egyptian boats) to stick in your display if that's alright.

All for now --- Tony
