Prince Louis-Ferdinand was Chef of an infantry regiment, garrisoned in my home town (not it's superior cook, but the guy, who it was named after).
In this function he repeatedly lived in Magdeburg in the neibourhood of the Royal palace.

There are reports, that he every now and then in the morning hours he played piano, only dressed in underpants.
During that time the staff officers of the garrison, that were obliged to report him, were standing waiting, till he ended his playing.

And, as we can see in the Funcken plate, he was quite fond of his hat - in the midst of a fierce hand to hand combat he has barely another thing in mind, as to keep his headgaer  ;D

Hello Eric,

I found another picture from L. & F. Funcken. Perhaps it can help too.

Hi Eric,

buttons - gold,
fringes - silver, with small black longitudinal stripes

saddlecloth - rather no empbroidery, but golden fringes (concerning this I trust Knötel)

I am working on these Bretegnier figures (available from C.Terana), showing the death of Louis Ferdinand of Prussia at the battle of Saalfeld
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Could somebody give me the following informations :
Color of Louis-Ferdinand buttons ? Gol or white metal ?
Color of the scarf fringes ? White or Gold
Are there any embroideries on the saddle clothe ? Knotel shows nothing but Myrbach shows something which could be the prussian eagle on a silver or golden plate
Thank you for the help
Eric
