Well, it won't happen until April 2015, so there's plenty of time for things to change (including cancellation due to lack of interest...  :( ). Since the clean-up tools and techniques, priming, and the painting techniques are the same, that portion of the class will go quickly. Since this is an intermediate class, all of that should be familiar to the attendees. For the sake of speed, my plan is to pre-clean and prime the pieces before hand. That way, the class (5-6 people) can get right to painting. The one thing we'll concentrate on is OSL - where the lights and darks fall, what parts of the figure might be casting shadows on other parts, and bounced/reflected light. Since gaming painters are used to 28-30mm sized pieces, that's the size I'm shooting for (with maybe a bump to 45mm for additional detail). I do want a proper face versus what I see on most of the 30mm metal flats.

More as it develops.

X2 Ken! I just finished four days at the ReaperCon show where I displayed eight flats between our club display table and the competition tables (there was only one other flat in the room - it, my Steampunk Girl, and my Halloween Witch picked up golds). There was a lot of interest in them since these aren't really part of the mini gaming world. It apparently caught the attention of the organizers, so I've been asked to teach an intermediate 'painting flats' class. The idea is to have one of their stable of professional sculptors put out a simple fantasy flat in 30-45mm, cast it in resin or metal, and paint them. I'd also like to see them put one in the swag bags, but that's a later discussion.

Brian, Chris and Nick congratulations on your first year, it's only by making a greater and more varied choice of Flats available that the hobby will grow.

Cheers Ken

Chris Seeley, Nick Ball and myself have been working 2D Figurines for over a year now helping to supply flat figures to the show goer, the response has been great with lots of new painters and old one's that have had their enthusiasm nudged a bit towards flats ;D

We have been making available to see figures at shows from top editors and have even produced figures, the BFFS figures are still being cast by us as well as a few others we have the stones for, Locust Models figures have their first figure for sale under 2D, hopefully there will be lots more from this small editor.

We can help with getting figures that are not so easy to come by and are now in a position to sell Vladmir Nuzhdin from Russia figures, New figs from Jupiter Miniatura are always in stock,   Western Miniatures full range is available from us and listed bellow are a few we deal with

Arcabuz - Rafael Cebrian
Fredericus-Rex
Alexander Glockner
Mussini
Zinnfiguren Rieger
BARRIERE FIGURINES - Segom
Regina Sonntag
Shogun
Zinnfiguren Strassburg

We can also help some times with Glorious Empires when we can talk to Jacques hahaha

Big thanks to all or customers and friends as with out you this would not have worked.
