Yes, Michael that is correct.  If you do it through this site using PayPal the change to Member happens automatically and immediately.  All of the journals are available online with an index as well.

I have been told after becoming a member colors also seem brighter, food tastes better and one has an added zest for life.

-cheers

I've been working on a blue king hussar officer tonight.
Only just occurred to me that it could be a hundred years since it was  engraved....
It's certainly inspired me to make a special effort painting it !

According to the handy online index it starts in issue # 33 - The Master Engravers of Saxony.

Apparently Charles has a more efficient index he carries with him - good memory Charles!

Check out the old Journals on the site. i seem to remember a series of articles about well known 'master' engravers by the late Erhard Finster. Most books are in German of course, but it is amazing how long some of these beautiful figures have been around. It is quite marvellous that you can still get them.

I've just read a post on here and I read something that amazed me, that some of the Frank engravings predate 1900...!
So I've realised that although I paint these things (and sometimes grumble about the castings!) I actually had no Idea about the history, just a dim notion that these things were old. It's certainly made me consider some of my figures in a new way.

So.........where is a good place to learn a little more history :)
