Many joly faces at Kulmbach this year ! The report proves it  ;D
Many figures too, my empty  wallet proves it !  :-[
Anyway three very nice days which make me think of 2015

A special word to all the BFFS members I met; not enough time to talk a lot

My congratulations to Nick ; how many beers did you pay to the jury or is it the addition of a little red in Grand'Pa cheeks which made the difference ?  ;) ;)

My apology to our Honourable Secretary with whom I had no time enough to talk

See you, maybe at the Euro

Eric

Very nice, I must say the Egyptian stuff does have a special charm all of their own. :)

A lot of what I bought at the show will take some time to assimilate, but I couldn't resist 'one off' painting this beautiful little Egyptian boat (which will join my New Kingdom Egyptian army) - I am awaiting some papyrus plants to complete the staging.

(my first attempt to post a picture so, hopefully, when I click 'post' something will appear)

This was also my first visit to Kulmbach, and needless  to say, it really is an overwhelming show! If I had one criticism of the show itself, is that it is just too darn easy to spend money! Row upon row, table upon table of great and even better figures to choose from, added  to the mix a scattering of book and rounds sellers, and really, there aren't enough hours in the day to take it all in.

I would strongly recommend that anyone who has never been to this fantastic show, to make the attempt to go, you will most certainly not be disappointed. For Americans like myself, the long air flight from the US West Coast (10+ hours LAX to TXL) as well as the Euro v. Dollar exchange rate can be a bit of a hurdle, but there are still plenty of deals to be had galore.

Kulmbach itself is a charming, beautiful little town, so bring the family, let the wife wander the town, while you max out the credit cards at the borse!

I'm already planning on attending again in 2 years time, it's a very habit forming show.

Hi Guys,

Bit late with this, but then again didnt get back until Thursday night, and been trying to catch up with everything since.

Had a great time at my first Kulmbach show what a friendly bunch of people they are, managed to sell a few kits too.

Spent a few days afterwards driving around seeing the sights.

Looking forward to 2015, hope they invite me back as a trader.

This year was my first time visiting the Kulmbach show, so thanks to BFFS people for making me welcome and giving advice.   It is certainly a great place to see and buy ... hard to take in, really ...

I posted a report on the show on Ancients on the Move
http://soawargamesteam.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/9th-11th-august-kulmbach-bavaria.html

... and on my visit to the Plassenburg Museum on P.B.Eye-Candy
http://pbeyecandy.wordpress.com/2013/08/17/plassenburg-zinnfiguren-museum-kulmbach/

I was able to fill a number of gaps in my growing flats collection, but I am sure I will have discovered plenty more that need filling by 2015.

Thanks
