The Egyptians turned out vrey effective, beautiful figures.  The skin tone turned out well.  Very nicely painted.

This was my first year at trying flats and have made one attempt so far. It went down well at my local BMSS club. I haven't been that productive otherwise except some 28mm wargames vignettes. This is partially down to my job during Covid and studying for a promotion exam. That's out of the way and now I need to get my mojo back. I'm finding it too easy to come home and do nothing.

The next two will be Mil-Mart figures Confederate and Union in 120mm. There's more relief in these figures than the other flats I have. I will continue with oils. I love acrylics but I'm not ready for them for flats yet.

I plan to go for a break to Berlin in the New Year. I will be visiting the Berliner Zinnfiguren shop. I've been once before and need to start saving now!

Brian - good cycling. I will do 25km on my mountain bike but that's as far as I can do.

Another flat painted a few weeks ago....

Two 30mm engravings by Ludwig Frank No. ‘8’, and ‘Ae254’ edited by Neckel. Some minor differences between the two versions.  This is an attempt to paint the skin of an Egyptian female of the Pharao court, between the black tone of a Nubian, and the dark brown of the Northern African skin.  There are more in the Neckel serie.

I myself tried acrylics for the first time other than as a primer. Of course when I went to the hobby store I instantly went to the rack with oils and first at home found out what I had bought. The shop had its policy not to exchange paints; fortunately I had just bought three tubes:burnt sienna, yellow ochre and blue.
I bought the Goldstein series The Babylonian slave market from Berliner Zinnfiguren mainly to support the firm in these hard times.
Stripped the 75mm figure The torture of paint. I wasn't satisfied with my work, begann anew mostly in acrylics. It looks much better now.
On another level, I have been studying for a new vocation and now working half time.

Me I'm still casting, got the Alice in Wonderland moulds now so that's keeping me busy,  still giving engraving a go and it dose not get easier but I think I'm getting better
Still painting, not just flats but rounds as well, keep trying acrylics but have go back to oils but will keep trying
Still sending figures out all over the world but thing have slowed down since covid, been receiving figures from Europe and never been taxed on import,  that's it now I've said it I'll get charged every time now hahaha
Health has not been the best, still recovering from my cancer op. have good days and have bad but we're getting there
I see shows for next year are being sorted and a few canceled but fingers crossed we'll have Kulmbach and World Expo
Been having loads of trouble with the old bike but when it's going it's grate, member of a bike club with new riders and I seem to have a differant idea to them, they go for a ride a 20 mile round trip and that's a ride, one time I left them and did just under 150 miles had a few days away on a road trip and did just under 700, they just don't understand hahaha
Well that's it for now but what you been up too
