I became curious in looking at Hussareiter's fine set of the Cloth of Gold - namely what is the largest set of flats issued based on number of figures?
Mohr has a number of hefty numbers -
Pope Julious and Apollo of Belevedere - 30 figures
Bauenkrieg - 63 figures
Gottstein -
Cortez & Montezuma - 73 figures
Battle of Murten 205 figures
Field of Gold - 46 figures
Valois Kings - 97 figures
I also recall a hefty set of Egyptians pulling a large statue for the pharoah which must run into the 70 or 80s along with Scholtz's Napoleon's retreat from Russia which today is sold in pieces and must be in the 2 - 300 figure range.
So what is the largest set in terms of numbers of figures and has actually finished painting a complete set?
mark
P.S. I suspect Mr. Talmant will be in the running for this as to largest set completed.
