In the form is an officer (he has an Saber) . The other Figures chop wood, clean boots, carry water or clean the uniform jacket. So it is probably simple soldiers.

Hi Gerald. After  writing those two  replies I went back into my man cave and came up with a 1937 paper back called The Kings Army Its Story in Word and Picture.  8)  They also had one for the Navy and Air Force . It is interesting because they sate how many men that the Army needed in 1937.  ???  On page 5 there is a picture of new recruits having signed papers given a demonstration on how to hold a rifle :o  The officer and NCO in shoes and long pants ???  Willie

Hello Gerald

I am  interested in WW1 but really no expert.

My idea for Bulgarians came from the combination of peaked caps and tight trousers.
But the more I look at the mould, I think, you are right.
And the Bulgarians had no stripes on the trousers (if These are stripes)
The Schutztruppe had.
British soldiers had wider trousers I think.
Greetings from a cold Austria.
Gerhard

Thank you Willie!
The Mould probably arose around the 1 WW. On the photos I have found, the British Royal Marines carry gaiters. These soldiers do not carry any. Look the "Soldat im Dienstanzug"

Thanks for the tip. But Bulgarians do not quite fit.
I have been investigating and thinking it is German Schutztruppe in the Dienstanzug.
