fesak_J : nmm, yes you are right about it.. I was decided to paint  axe of my mercenary figure in NMM, I started well but lost patience later and put everything on it ..


May be area was little big idk..


Michel no worries, I dont want to interupt your schedule but if it will be an article for the site, sure it will be good.


There is lot of informations, paint sets specialy for acrylics exists in market for all..

Dear Serhan, nice work   

I agree with Michel and it is just a mine opinion that for flats is more suitable to use NMM technique(non metalic) - fits and looks more better than to use and blend metalic colours. 


blending white: depends on what kind of tones you would like to get. Usually for 30mm minis I have used: base - mix of titanium white and vandyk brown(75/25 or less), S2 - vanDyk brown + blue indigo, S1 - cobalt violet, H1 - naples yellow + titanium white, H2 - pure titanium white

Don't worry with metallic paints with flats, it is not much used, and non metallic painting allows as much quality, lile our old masters !!
White is different, but tips can be found on internet, or I can prepare some material, to be translated in English, as I think most is in French, but no problem, with examples.

I am not nice painter but trying to practise it too.


Last week I added Winsor Newton range oils to my bench, later I will try combining both acrylics and oils together.


Perhaps this Landsknecht is a good base for the painting too, color variations seems like endless.


At the moment my biggest problem with the painting is working with white and metallics..


and I will spent some more time on this one, with the whites and metallics..

I suppose in the long run it won't really matter. You could probably make a few changes with putty and a hobby knife if you wanted to. Either way it will paint up nicely.

Hello Glen..


Thank you for your instructions but unfortunatelly I already made some more modifications and cooked it    ...

In original photo I could not see left collar tip. Left collar tip got lost out of sight due roundness of the chest probably.
About waist area problem, somehow I done it oversized.. Thats why all dimensions are changed and I could not applied belt detail as it is in the photo..

When I aware of such cases, I mostly let it as it is and finish rest of the detail in my taste. May be some small change with the original is more fun... Or I am very lazy

Yes, getting better. Serhan, I have found your source image and I think I know where the problem with the collar lies. Both collars have the pointed tip - circled on the figure's right side. In your chosen angle, the tip on the figure's right falls away from the viewer as it wraps around the body. The edge seam should not join together (upper box on the figure's left) as it is out of view. Additionally, I think the waist area (lower box on the figure's right) has too much of a break up and to the figure's left. Combined, the two are what gives me the impression of a swelling in the upper chest - or breasts.

By the way, I will wait some days before send it to oven, so please inform if some further impressions you have  . Actually I have one ( hands..) but I hate to play with there...

Speaking of women; Serhan take another look at the collar flap on the figure's left side. I'm getting a visual impression of breasts  . The flap is pointed on the figure's right side (and in the source picture), but rounded on the left. I think I see a pointed flap on the left side in the source pic as well, but I'm not sure.


I see no reason why you couldn't cast this in RTV rubber and resin.
