Thank you Henry, would never have guessed. Beautifully engraved particularly the flag, complete with heraldry and the captain's sword which has a corkscrew pattern on the blade. Impressive for a figure this size.

An interesting set I purchased from a gentleman in the UK for the Papal Guard. Figures are absolutely beautifully engraved and cast. No marks on the bases which are oval - I am guessing Scholtz?
