Cheers Nick. They won't win any prizes, but it was a subject I never tried before. Thanks to Mark for making me get the brushes out again.

Good luck with the knights. I have left them alone, and have embarked on a Burgundian wedding set.

Score three for Charles - a nice workman like bunch of fellows, well done. These look great.
(By the way I put down a basic coat on the knights you sent me this weekend so I am getting there. Still having trouble depicting armor though my horses are improving.)

Very cool, I am looking forward to seeing them.
I have quite a bit of AWI information, I will see if I have anything on who you are mentioning. There are also a couple of nice sites in the Miscellaneous links section of the site
http://www.intflatfigures.org/index.php?action=links;cat=4
which may provide some help as well.
-cheers

Hello Maek !
After several weeks on working for Montrouge, next week for the Paint Demonim in Lille , I found back the two characters of the Independence war you sent me with the hoplites and tonight I fixed their identifiaction = two members of the Loyal Queen's County Militia from 1780-1781 !!
I am collecting littérature and colour plan and will publish a work-in-process descripton.

Thank you both. I won't get to the next one until June/July. I do think I'm going to take a closer look at the remaining two under magnification and try to sharpen the detail a bit before I put brush to metal. Can't resist... making... modifications...

OK, first one done! The other two will be part of a flat painting class. One raw, one cleaned up and primed, and this one. After the class, I'll start the other two in a different color scheme. The pic is about twice actual size.
Cheers,

I have two of the three Hoplites cleaned up and primed. I'm planning on painting one so I can show a 30mm flat raw, one cleaned up and primed, and one painted for my upcoming painting class(es). Still trying to figure out what I'm looking at in regards to the two little warrior babes. Found drawings, but no painted examples. I may have to -gulp- wing it...
Hannibal - I'm looking forward to your Hoplite WIP!
