I have done several of Gary's pieces and they are bits of perfection. Thanks for the article.

You also might want to follow .rich Odell's new blog. He is producing a tutorial on his production of a relief of Annie Oakley at http://www.richardodell.com/work-in-progress/little-sure-shot.html

An interesting article. Fortunately I get as much pleasure from painting resin, semi-flat, relief, demi-ronde figures, whatever you want to call them as I do traditional zinnfiguren, a bit like my taste in food, drink and music, plenty of variety is good for you.  ;D

Beautiful work, flats only in the loosest definition though.

 Thanks for showing.
Now I have understood as old bachelor Gravier the manufacturing process flat figure of the future.
Oh.... super, excellent sculptor!
There are great ideas, a huge cinema and an artificial medium. ;D ;D
But!
With the result, I will stay with my with black stones and gray dust.
Traditional flat metal figures, I can recycle them.

What an excellent sculpter? Is it sculpting, adding layers instead of carving away?

Whatever it is, he has a great eye and the faces are fantastic.

Look forward to seeing more of his work. Thanks for posting Mark

Here is an excellent overview on sculpting reliefs on Steven Lloyds site from Gary Dombrowski.

I think I may try this with a Buck Rogers figure I have had in mind.
