There are really nice figures in the Jantz-catalogue!
And also of rarely covered topics - hunting, angling, forestry wokrs etc.

It would be nice to get information about the availability of the figures - i.e. where the moulds are.

Flat Figure Sets / Retter Daimler - First Motorcyle
« Last post by marko on March 20, 2025, 02:43:25 PM »
This is a nice set from Retter illustrating Gottleib Daimler tries out his motorcycle in the streets of Cannstatt, Cannstatt being in Stuttgart and Daimler's vehicle being called a riding car initially.

The motorcycle is a quite faithful reproduction of the actual vehicle

Normally not my area of interest but, i saw this exquisite paint job in an ebay auction which mixed in some figures from one of Hafer's sets.

What is also quite interesting is you will notice in picture two the 4th figure from the left shows a young man and then two legs.  These appear as a figure cut off and show up in the catalog as well.  They are in the painted examples and probably are meant to represent boots but, appear as a figure broken off at the ankles at first glance.

An interesting bit of history which is again what makes flat collecting fun!

Hi Rm,
it makes more work than shipping anything in the EU. You have to declare your goods, the shipment is more expensive and most of the small Editors are Hobbyists and it is not
a business and maybe, there will not take any risk.
I personally as a small editor or smallest Ebay seller have no bad experiences made with shipping anything overseas (the only really bad experience I have made was here in Germany)
At the moment I pack my stuff for the Shogun-Weekend in Goslar - starts tomorrow - so maybe you will not get any answer before monday.

Hi, Erich. I appreciate the response.

I’ve had a couple editors mention the shipping costs being too high… but I am paying those, so it confuses me. I do understand that it may be a hassle though.

I sometimes search eBay.de for flats but most sellers will not post to the US.

Dear all,

thanks to my friend Erich I can share with all of you  the Jentz catalogue.

Unfortunately we don't know where the moulds are, but I can tell you (i have a few sets) that they are really well engraved.
