Utterly pathetic!!!! >:( >:(  is it any wonder kids of today don't know anything!!! lets just wipe everything from history as if it never happened!!!!

Upsetting the French indeed, are you upset Eric?  or are you proud of your Fellow countrymen.

Political correctness gone mad by a bunch of Bureaucratic pen pushing nobodies.

These Soldier's gave their lives for this country as did the French, whether it was the correct thing to do or not,  and therefore they DESERVE to be RESPECTED and HONOURED.

Where OH where  did it all go wrong ?????

That the UK all over 200th anniversary an not a thing. I bet if Napoleon had won it would be a national holiday in France.

Just my two cents:

Last year the Battle of Nations reenactment in Leipzig had no winning side.

This year (200th anniversary) the scenario will be similar - in front of expected over 6thousand reenactors from all over the world and some ten thousands of spectators, that will spend a substantial entrance fee.

Reason - "We won't offend anybody as a loser"

Any more questions?
Joerg

But Joerg it's history! and the French lost the "Battle of Nations" ???  so we have to re-right the past so no one gets the hump :o
Sounds like American history  ;)

Will you and your guys be there at Waterloo in two years time?

The occasion of the battle every year. ::)
Unfortunately, the city and the surrounding region has been very neglected of Wataloo in recent years.
A shame because the whole region is under a preservation!
This is also my last impression was whom I was itself on site. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Inns and Hotels provetieren because of the unfortunately has not arrived yet in the mind.
Same situation we are in Leipzig (1813) have this year. :o
But it is recognized that no one wants to know something from the Napoleonic era to this year.
So now action must follow. ;)

Where will it all stop? >:(

NEWSFLASH------

As from 2015,and after a £50 million pound commission was set up, whereby a group of overpaid Bureaucrats with no experience on the subject what- so -ever have travelled around England attending league division one football matches, staying at 5 * hotels, whilst still getting expenses to fly back to Europe every evening to sign in so they can still claim their €300 per day,  it has been decided that so these highly paid footballers don't get upset by losing, that there will now no longer be any Goals! All goals and keepers will be removed and In future all players will instead, just run around each other and for  one and a half hours just pass the ball between themselves!!!!!  :-\ :-\ >:(

In another development, and with another set of commissioners, on the same JOLLY, decided that Cricket also needed to be investigated!! :o  from next year, there will no longer be stumps or runs!!!, batsmen will be asked to only block shots, and should they hit a long ball by accident, not to run between the creases!!! Apart from the Health and safety aspect where they may fall over, it would again be very discouraging for their opponents!!!  Batsmen will also no longer be able to be out!! They will instead just  play for 25 overs each, and when their time is up, will leave the pitch to be replaced by the next Man.

Do I sound sinicle!!!!  No I'm just angry!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

A message from the 8th Duke of Wellington

‘I am often asked whether we should not now, in these days of European unity, forget Waterloo and the battles of the past. My reply is, history cannot be forgotten and we need to be reminded of the bravery of the thousands of men from many nations who fought and died in a few hours on 18th June 1815 and why their gallantry and sacrifice ensured peace in Europe for 50 years’.

Nick welcome to the world of PC. This has been going on over here for years. They have rewritten the Civil War until I do not recognize it at all. The kids over here do not have any idea about there Military History. If you speak up you are a Racist. Ya I think we had a World War II. This is what I would get from Meddle School kids when I gave talks at my two museums I volunteer at and  when I was at the National Park Service giving talks on different Battle Fields it would drive me nuts. Nick I am with you all the way. Are kids are fed crap about Military History and stuff written by  some so called PC experts is nothing but trash. I my self am not ashamed of those soldiers who have given there all. Waterloo is studied at West Point. Willie

Yea Willie, though it's not so much WW1 that I'm worried about, but Christmas!!! :o

In yet another dramatic development and after a £150 million pound Jolly ( err sorry, Investigation), Bureaucrats have ruled that since Father Christmas has been giving more toys to good Children and less to those that are Naughty, this is a Discrimitory act and must STOP.

Once the investigation started, there appeared to be no stopping it and it was also found that Health and safety issues had either not been taken into account or worst still totally ignored.

St Nicholas did agree that the Reindeer's had not been issued with either Hi Visibility Jackets, hard hats, nor safety Goggles whilst flying, and only one had been issued with some sort of torch to guide them!! again this could be classed as discrimination, as I am sure all the Reindeer at some point should have been given the opportunity to be at the front !!
It was suggested by one daft individual that to get over this issue, perhaps a 1.5 million watt light bulb could be attached to a specially made helmet!!
( They are now in line to accept a very nice Bonus to their salary at the end of the year  -- have you noticed how I have had to say they and NOT he or she!!! ) ;)

At this point it became obvious that St. Nicholas did not even have a driving Licence, let alone insurance and although he tried to claim 300 years of Grandfather's rites to drive a Sledge with out any accidents in this time what so ever, this was rejected out of hand!!!
St. Nicholas was also singled out for not using a proper Harness whilst climbing down the Chimney's nor using a respirator against unwanted Soot, he didn't even appear to know what Steel toe cap boots were, let alone wear them!!!
The sledge itself had SO many issues, this alone was worth a hefty fine!!, no Brake lights, no seat belts, no navigational light's, no ON TOW signs and where, they wanted to know was the Air Bag?  The on board cigarette lighter, fitted standard to all sledge model's was a fire risk, and indeed there was not even a fire extinguisher aboard!!

It was therefore concluded that Father Christmas should be Banned for a minimum of 5 years and fined £ 275, 000. His argument of being a Charity was Thrown out, and when he said that all the Elves worked for free, he was accused of running a sweat shop! and the fine now total'd £ 450,000.

Christmas has now gone Bankrupt!!!   The Reindeer are to be sold for Horsemeat,  ( or is that as Horsemeat !!! ;D)  Lapland is to be SOLD to a local supermarket, and the Elves are now all Unemployed.

In the words of one Bureaucrat  " it has been a good day for us, another Company has been told to conform to our utterly ridiculous standards, and the fact it has gone bankrupt and the people are out of work is nothing to do with us Guv!  In fact looking on the bright side, all those 2354 Elves  and even Father Christmas himself, will now be able to collect massive benefits, and as I said to them --- it beats working!!!
By the end of the year, a lot of us will also receive very big Bonuses for a super good job Well done!!!!!!! :o

Chris Cringle, representing St Nicholas only had this to say  " Another fine tradition has been thrown on the waste heap, in the name of political correctness gone MAD.  It's a very sad day for us all. :'(

Sorry to be pedantic but, I believe after the Maine blew up in Pearl Harbor the Americans bombed Canada in reaction to Pancho Villa's raid on Minneapolis.
