Dear Joerg,

Thank you for posting this. For me as a relative newcomer to this hobby, the arcane technique of slate engraving is all new and extremely fascinating.

That looks easy, I'll get a rock at the garden centre this weekend and give it a go :-\ :-\

How they do this in reverse is beyond me. Absolutely facinating.  I have saved these 3 parts on my ipad, for further reference

I saw a report about 3D copier !
Maybe some day we will make our own copies of figures !
And a new traditional way will desappear (like blown glass !)

Don't worry Wolfgang; their will always be a couple of old timers to prefer the traditional way
