Hello,
I´m looking for some books on French armies in the 16th century, Italians wars to the Hugenotte wars but not really find something.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Christoph

Osprey as is normal has some of this covered with books on Pavia, Fornovo the Condottiere and landsknechts as well as an overview of the French Religious Wars. However, they are all pretty brief in their coverage.
I have a hard time in the following century with information - in English anyway - on Turenne and the Great Conde and their campaigns and armies.

Try looking on galica.bnf the French on line library, has many early books.
You can simply put in uniformes in search and see what it throws up, or you can be more specific and enter 16th century uniformes ,but, you must insert in French, no good putting anything in the search engine in English.
Try it and see you might be surprised.
Kindest regards
Bob

Ok here are some more books I think you well like. The Renaissance At War 1400-1600 a small book with lots of information printed 2002 By Thomas Arnold. Second Tudor Customs and Fashion by Herbert Norris printed 1997. This book has every thing about Tudor clothing. Third Are Past in Western Europe By D. Knowlton printed 1953. Fourth The Mongols War Loads By David Nicolle printed in 1990. Fifth The Army of King Matthias 1458-1526 printed in 2013 By Gyozo Somogyi . This last book covers Eastern Europe Hungary. Willie

Thanks for your help, The Funcken-book and some publications about landsknechts are already here. I will check the others.
Galica.bnf is a nice idea, I have found some interesting 17th century books there in the past.

As an example hre is an old set issued by the "Société des collectionneurs de figurines historiques" long ago and painted by Leopold Rieche
The moulds were kept by Christian Terana and unfortunately I do not know where they went after he died

Thank you for showing the figures Eric. I have seen them in Mr. Teranas catalouge on this side but not the figures itself.
