Just got this Grunwald flat from a ebay seller .No idea if it still made .I assume so .Its the Norwich -London Mail coach .A bit special for me as I come from London and now live in Norwich .I will try to also paint a snowy coaching inn back ground . I the most romantic evening of my life with my future wife at the White hart Coaching in at Brentwood one Christmas eve :-* .It started snowing and was perfect .The drive home ,all rather merry, was interesting especially the huge hill .we had to get up .all i need now is time and talent .
I just learned my favorite coaching inn is now called the Sugar Hut in Brentwood and is now a bar and bollocks featured in the only way is Essex which rather spoilt the illusion . :-[
I forgot to add that a standing joke in Norfolk is that the Royal Mail still use stage coaches as it can take donkeys years for anything to arrive though oddly goods from Japan always get here quicker.

I have also had my eye on this piece on ebay. Looking forward to seeing you paint it.

I am debating whether to remove the raised lettering and emblems and hand paint them in as its often the case that the raised versions dont work so well .A bit like some flags .Lettering is fairly straightforward as long as you start in the middle of the word to get the spacing correct .

There is still one London-Norwich mail coach on the road. This is an original, not a reproduction.

It figures .Maybe if they scrapped it and bought a van it would be quicker .... but probably not ;D It would still get jammed up at 5 ways .

The real laugh is that the owner has had it registered as a mail coach and all the old laws still apply. Providing he is carrying just one letter he has absolute priority on all roads, cannot be stopped by the police, doesn't need to pay tolls, and so on. He has driven it through Paris and New York amongst other places. It really is an impressive sight.

This is the one that is most like the Grunewald .Same number slightly different lettering placement and fittings .
