Like this one, the horse in particular!
This time period seems well represented of late on the site which is great as it is one of my favorites. Nicely painted!

Thank you very much Mark, I'm doing some touch up and tinkering with areas I didn't notice until I looked at my photo's so I might post an update later on or maybe tomorrow.

Eric's fault. ;D

You should know, it's always D'artagnan's fault!!! I've seen the films !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
Nicely done Roger, do you prefer doing 30mm or larger figures?
-
Thanks very much Nick. I don't really have a size preference, I usually have 30's and larger figures in progress at the same time. Subject matter is what really sways me.
-
What, the bigger it is the more it sways :o
Ah, it's the way I tell em! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

No doubt, the oil painting molded shape their skills with the colors.
My Captain, they stay on track! ;)
-
Thank you very much Wolfgang, yes I like the oils now. ;)

Hi Roger,
Nice work
Keep on painting " ancien régime" figures
Just a small remark : Turenne horse at that special moment ( year of death), was black and white
His soldiers named him " The Magpie "

Thank you very much Eric. I really wish I had known about Magpie when I started this but I'll just put that down to experience. :)
If anyone asks this is his spare horse when Magpie was having a rest. ;D

Roger, if you are interested I have a painting guide for the Louis XIV staff issued by Gottstein
It has been made by C.Terana
It is in french but maybe could you hve it translate
Would you like a copy ?
Eric
-
Yes please Eric, I would like it very much. My reading of French is probably adequate for these purposes, I understood French very well when I was ashore in Cherbourg and Bayonne and as the night wore on it got better. ;D
-
Eric, hope you are recovering well!
Do you have any insight as far as ordering from C. Terana? Louis XIV and his staff was one of Gottstein's sets on my wish list as well. I would be interested in knowing the price and placing an order.

Thanks Mark, I am OK
There is no problem to order from Terana except he does not speak english
He has the original molds of the Gottstein set and the ones recast by D Lepeltier
I will ask him the cost of the set and of a secured shipping to US
For the payment I can make it to Christian and you will pay me back via paypal ( to my knowledge Terana does not use it, but I will check)

Cheers Eric, I appreciate it.
Mind you I am up to my armpits in work and Neckel Bavarians at the moment but, some French Staff would round out the year nicely.

P.S. Now I just need to track down Krog - Valois, Elizabeth at Tillbury and the rest of his Henry VIII set. It is always something isn't it?
-
Collector'pleasure is to track the untrackable !

I do like this mate. Who is the engraver?
Very well painted. Keep on with the little blokes (30mm) I look forward to seeing more of these

The designer is Lucien Rousselot and the engraver Otto Thieme
